Responsibilities
President’s role is to be the champion and leader for the mission and goals of the organization and be the advocate to internal and external stakeholders. President owns, manages and accountable for the overall governance, compliance and engagement of the Alumni Association and its members. President develops and maintains beneficial relationships with donors, supporters, collaborators, allies and the GIK Institute leadership teams, including the Rector. Attends SOPREST meetings to represent Alumni Association’s interests and presides regular EC team meetings and engagement with GIKI Alumni across the globe. President is elected for a fixed term as per Articles of Association rules and guidelines. President also appoints Vice Presidents for the association on as needed basis
(b) Secretary:
Secretary’s role and responsibilities are to ensure EC team meetings are effectively organized and documented for action. Secretary maintains effective records and administration for the organization and manages internal and external communication and correspondence as needed. Secretary is elected for a fixed term as per Articles of Association rules and guidelines.
(c) Treasurer:
Treasure or VP Finance provides leadership and direction on financial and accounting issues of the organization. Responsibilities include, managing the budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning process, generating reports and analysis to assist in decision making, monitoring and managing banking relationships, cash management and other treasury related activities, ensuring compliance with financial processes, systems and policies and providing an oversight on tax, internal controls and audit related matters. Treasurer is elected for a fixed term as per Articles of Association rules and guidelines.
