A year ago, we started out on our mission to raise Rs. 2.1 million to support some of the deserving students that we had selected from GIK Institute. On the strength of some generous donations from members of the alumni, we were able to raise nearly 2 million rupees before the end of the spring semester. When the academic year started, a call for donations was made. The target before us was 2.1 million. That target has been significantly dented, thanks to the efforts of some very generous people.
Since August 2007, a total of Rs. 1,470, 576/- was raised through donations. Together with Rs. 143,812/- that was the carry over

It has been five weeks since we launched our appeal to raise funds for financing students at GIKI. A great many people have responded since then and an amount in excess of Rs. 650,000 was raised through some handsome donations from some very generous people. This amount has been sent to GIK Institute and now we are current with the dues of five students.
